The McKeesport Community Newsroom is hosting a free screening of the Oscar-nominated documentary Writing with Fire at the Carnegie Library of McKeesport at 6 p.m. on April 4.

The documentary follows the brave Dalit women who started India’s first all female newspaper Khabar Lahariya. The women are breaking down barriers to information for their communities and have redefined what it means to be powerful in India’s competitive male dominated media industry.

This event is open to the public and is being held in honor of National Library Week.
