Corpus Christi Fish Fry

April 10, 2025

Every Friday during the weeks leading up to Easter, hundreds of McKeesport area residents descend upon the Corpus Christi Social Hall on Market Street for their favorite Lenten meal. Some are in a hurry to pick up their food to eat at home, but many linger over fried fish sandwiches , haluski and homemade desserts and for the opportunity to connect with family, friends and fellow parishioners of the Mary, Mother of God Parish.

It takes an army of 50 to 60 volunteers to fry and serve 1000 pounds of North Atlantic cod every week. Almost everything is made fresh on the premises, including their tartar and cocktail sauces. Haluski is their most popular side dish. It is the parish’s biggest fundraiser of the year and it is well attended by both Catholics and non-Catholics.

Friday, April 11 will be their final fish fry for the season.
